We got to the fire station and Ian got to try on the gear that firemen wear. He thought that was great.
Then they had the kids sit on a "bed" to tell them what to do if a fire starts at night. Chloe did not want to participate, even with Ian there.
After this point I have no more pictures because it is raining pretty steady and everything else is outside. Next, we went into the "smoke house". They simulate smoke to teach kids how to not panic and get out of the house safely. Chloe even went upstairs and climbed down the ladder by herself.
The next part was even more exciting. We got to go for a ride in a fire truck. Ian had a blast and Chloe had no idea what was going on.
It rained all the way home, but my kids were happy and we woke up to just a little snow.

Snow! We are supposed to get a couple of inches here tonight, too. Bah.
I think it is great you took the kids to the fire safety event. I would have been engrossed in that as a child!
Ian makes the cutest little fire fighter! We also woke to snow about 5 inches--yikes!!!
Looks like fun! I remember being scared that our house would burn down after learning fire safety... Learning what to do in an emergency made me worry about the emergency. Recently Tash started walking home from the bus alone, so we gave her the don't talk to strangers, safety etc... Tamsyn was so worried after that. She didn't want Tasha to walk home alone bc she'd get kidnapped. I guess she is like me.
Have you noticed anything like that with your kids?
